Hepatitis A exposure in northern N.S.

A potential exposure to Hepatitis A in Amherst.

Public health says they’re investigating a confirmed case, but risk to the public is low.

They’re asking anyone who ate or drank food at the Tim Hortons on Albion Street from May 30 to June 14 to monitor any symptoms.

The symptoms are generally mild and include fever, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Public health says they’re offering a vaccine to those at higher risk of being infected.

They say the best way to protect yourself is good hand washing and vaccination.
