RCMP lay drug charges against pair caught robbing cottage in Queens

The RCMP have filed additional drug charges against a pair of robbers caught at a cottage near East Berlin.

A 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Brooklyn, were arrested on April 23 when police arrived at a robbery in progress at a cottage on East Berlin Road.

As part of the arrest their car was seized, however, a warrant to search it wasn’t obtained until June 4.

Once it was issued, it was searched and officers seized bear mace, a knife, a machete, a white powder believed to be cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.

The two suspects were then arrested for a second time on June 13, and issued charges stemming from the drugs found.

They have since been released on bail and will return to court on August 28, at the Provincial Court House in Bridgewater.

Both are facing charges of:

  • Break and Enter with Intent
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

The 37 year old man is also facing an additional charge of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose (3 counts).
