The O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes shutout the St. John’s Hitmen 4-0 to open up play at the Chronicle Herald East Coast Ice Jam in Bedford.
Cole Spidle scored twice while Lawson Cook and Konnor Benjamin rounded out the scoring.
The Hurricanes are back on the ice tomorrow morning against Eastern Express of PEI.
Meanwhile, the Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs take on the Tri Pen Osprey tonight at 8 p.m. in their tournament opener.
