‘CAT’ passenger numbers up 19 percent

‘CAT’ ferry passenger numbers continue to climb.

Nearly 32,000 tickets have been sold for the Nova Scotia-to-Maine vessel this season.

That’s over 5,200 more than this time last year.

So far this season, the Bay Ferries vessel has transported over 12,000 passengers and 5,000 vehicles.

Five round-trips have been cancelled so far, mostly due to weather.

In a release, Bay Ferries President Mark Wilson says they continue to see strong growth in this year’s bookings, indicating a strong season.

The peak season is now underway with daily crossings.
