Thousands raised to support family of youth after fatal flooding in Wolfville

A fundraiser has been started to help the family of the young person who died in the Wolfville flood.

Nearly $40,000 has been raised since the tragedy on Friday, according to a GoFundMe page.

It says the fundraiser aims to support “Eli’s family—his parents, siblings, and loved ones—during this devastating time. The funds raised will help them celebrate Eli’s memory, lay him to rest peacefully, and ease some of their burdens.”

In a release, the RCMP says the youth was found deceased after flash flooding in the town and surrounding Kings County communities on July 11th.

They had been playing with friends at the park when flash flooding occurred.

The Mounties say they will not release the victim’s name or any other personal information.
