Province seeking information on 2023 Tantallon wildfire

The province searching for more information on last year’s major wildfire in Upper Tantallon.

They’re asking the public to reach out to them if they have info, so they can continue their investigation.

The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables says they’ve already gathered a lot, but they’ve exhausted other avenues on potential Forests Act violations.

In May, 2023, the fire destroyed 151 homes.

A person convicted can be fined up to $50,000 and face six months in jail.
