New Pallet shelters almost ready in 3 N.S. communities

Pallet shelters are opening soon in three communities.

Acting community services minister Jill Balser says the shelters can help the homeless get on a path to permanent housing.

The shelter village in Kentville will open Wednesday, it has 20 units.

Forty-one units will open soon on Atlantic Street in Dartmouth, and 35 more will be ready in Pine Tree Park in Sydney.

The province gave $7.5 million in funding for 200 units from Pallet, they include bed frames, mattresses and desks.
