MODL to give away 1,000 trees

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is planning to give away 1,000 trees to residents as part of their climate action plan.

The larger goal of the climate plan is to see 10,000 trees planted around the municipality over the next decade to improve air quality and mitigate flood risks.

The trees will be given out at the MARC (33 Leary Fraser Rd, Dayspring) on September 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a rain date set for September 15.

Up for grabs will be saplings of red and sugar maples as well as red oaks.

To be eligible to pick up trees you need to be a resident of the municipality and there is a household limit of four trees.
