High Liner announced $250K donation to South Shore Regional Hospital

High Liner Foods has donated $250,000 to the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore, supporting the Brighter Days Capital Campaign for the redevelopment of South Shore Regional Hospital.

The donation, presented at High Liner’s Lunenburg facility during their annual Family Day event, will be directed towards the hospital’s Dialysis Unit.

Paul Jewer, President and CEO of High Liner Foods, says the contribution is intended as the company’s way of giving back to it’s employees and the wider community by supporting upgrades the largest hospital in the region.

“The Regional Hospital plays a critical role in the lives of our community members, and we are proud to support the expansion and redevelopment of the South Shore Regional Hospital to continue to help families across the province,” said Jewer.

The Brighter Days Campaign (which technically already concluded) has raised over $10.6 million, helping to fund the hospital’s ongoing 48,705 sq. ft. expansion.

The new Emergency Room is expected to open in 2025, and you can find more details on the rest of the work being done on the South Shore Hospital Foundation website.
