Probe underway after reported illnesses from attendees of PEI Shellfish Festival

An investigation is underway after around 50 reports of gastrointestinal illness from individuals who attended the PEI International Shellfish Festival.

It was held September 19 through 22.

A statement from Festival organizers says the cause of the illness is unknown, but they are working closely with the Chief Public Health Officer as a probe is underway.

The CPHO is trying to determine the source of these illnesses.

Anyone who attended the festival and is experiencing symptoms should fill out the CPHO online submission form.
