High winds and heavy rain in the forecast for parts of N.S.

Wet and windy weekend weather is ahead for parts of the province.

Environment Canada has issued wind warning for Halifax and much of eastern Nova Scotia.

Heavy rain is also in forecast, but much of the province is in desperate need of precipitation to help with drought like conditions.

Winds could blow up to 90 km/h along the Atlantic coast.

A Les Suêtes Wind Warning calls for maximum gusts to 120 km/h in Inverness County from Margaree Harbour to Bay St Lawrence

Expect 50 to 70 mm of rain in some areas but possibly more over the highlands.
