UPDATE: Scattered power outages in N.S. as rain and wind warnings in effect

A wet and windy Saturday.

Environment Canada has rainfall warnings in place for Lunenburg, Halifax, Guysborough and Cape Breton.

Up to 70 millimetres of rain could fall through the day.

Wind warnings are also in effect for Antigonish and Pictou, along with Halifax, Guysborough and Cape Breton.

Wind gusts could reach 90 kilometres an hour from the south, they’ll taper off Saturday night.

Some power outages are being reported Saturday afternoon.

Nova Scotia Power’s outage map showed over 3,000 customers in the dark as of 3 p.m.

Most of the outages are in Cape Breton, where water is reportedly pooling on roads and highways.
