Lt.-Gov. to host New Year’s Day levée

You’re invited to join Nova Scotia’s new lieutenant governor to usher in 2025 at the oldest vice-regal residence in North America.

Lieutenant Governor Mike Savage will host the New Year’s Day Levée at Government House in Halifax.

In a release, Lt.-Gov. Savage states, “The levée is a time-honoured tradition that brings Nova Scotians together to celebrate community, friendship and new beginnings. Darlene and I are delighted to invite residents and visitors to the province to join us for this special occasion.”

The free social event will take place Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1451 Barrington Street. Invitations are not required.

Government House, constructed between 1799 and 1805, is a national historic site.

About 700 guests attend the lieutenant-governor’s levée each year.
