NDP leader renews calls for N.S. ‘task force’ on tariffs

The province’s opposition leader says we need a plan to address tariffs.

The NDP’s Claudia Chender says local jobs and industry are already losing contracts, and soon workers and business owners are going to feel the impact.

She’s calling for a task force of leaders across the province to get a ‘made-in Nova Scotia’ response.

Chender adds they have to stand together and prepare for this economic attack.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced tariffs on steel and aluminum will begin on March 12.

Premier Tim Houston is joining other provincial leaders in Washington, D.C. this week to speak to lawmakers.
