It’s the largest capital plan in our province’s history.
Finance minister John Lohr announced $2.35 billion is budgeted for healthcare, housing, schools and infrastructure.
Lohr says this will help the economy for years to come.
“These projects will mean good-paying jobs that will help lift our friends, neighbours and communities up. A stronger economy means a healthier, more resilient population,” said Lohr.
Some of the biggest items include $750 million for the Halifax Infirmary expansion and healthcare redevelopment in Cape Breton.
There’s also $500 million for roads and highways and $210 million for schools.
Lohr says moving the province forward requires a new mindset.
“As the Premier has said, we must take the ‘no’ out of Nova Scotia. Our government is ready to seize these opportunities, and we’re about finding solutions.”
The province will table their budget on Tuesday.
