Provincial funding for coastline protection

New funding is available to protect coastline properties.

The province says applications are open for projects that make communities safer from extreme weather and floods.

It will also help protect trails or buildings from erosion or rising sea levels.

Environment minister Timothy Halman says fighting climate change requires all hands on deck, and the funding empowers local leaders to respond.

Applications are open now for municipalities, non-profits and community organizations.
