Cape Breton’s Celtic Colours venues set, 50 concerts planned for 2025

Plans are taking shape for the 29th Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton this fall.

It will open October 10th at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre and close October 18th at Centre 200 in Sydney.

Venues have been announced with 50 concerts slated for 36 communities.

The annual celebration of the island’s culture and traditions through music and dance will take place in long-standing venues like the Savoy Theatre, the Fortress of Louisbourg, and the Strathspey Performing Arts Centre, plus in various churches and halls.

According to a release, there will be concerts in Aspy Bay, Baddeck, Belle Côte, Big Pond, Boisdale, Boularderie, Chéticamp, Christmas Island, D’Escousse, Eskasoni, Glace Bay, Glendale, Ingonish, Inverness, Iona, Iron Mines, Judique, L’Ardoise, Leitches Creek, Louisbourg, Lower River Inhabitants, Mabou, Marion Bridge, Membertou, New Waterford, North Sydney, Petit-de-Grat, Port Morien, St. Ann’s, St. Peter’s, Sydney Mines, Sydney River, Wagmatcook, and Whycocomagh.

This year’s schedule offers 13 afternoon matinees as well as nightly concerts, including six licensed shows, and the always-popular Festival Club at the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s.

The full line-up of artists will be announced during the last week of June. Tickets will go on sale July 8th.
