RCMP investigating theft of fishing nets from river in Ingramport

Halifax Regional RCMP are asking for the public’s help following the theft of fishing gear from the Ingram Port River.

Officers were called to the area near Rivers End Road around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after two elver fishing nets were reported stolen. Investigators believe the theft happened in the early morning hours.

The missing nets are licenced and have a combined estimated value of $4,000.

Later the same day, police searched a property in Sipekne’katik as part of the investigation. The nets were not recovered.
