Emergency department access changing temporarily at QEII

Temporary changes to accessing the QEII Emergency Department.

Bell Road will be open to eastbound traffic only.

It affects traffic on Quinpool Rd coming east as well as north and southbound on Robie Street.

Vehicles will not have access to Bell Rd from Summer and Trollope Streets.

These changes start Friday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 30.

Sections of sidewalks on Cogswell Street and Bell Road will also be temporarily closed.

This detour travels northeast on the northernmost sidewalk on Cogswell Street, crossing at the pedestrian crosswalk and back toward the Halifax Common Aquatics Facility.

Those changes start Sunday, March 30 through Friday, May 2.

Follow the sidewalk eastbound to the crosswalk to reach emergency department entrance sidewalk.

Nova Scotia Health says the changes are to help with the construction of the new QEII acute care tower.

Traffic control will be on site, detours will be in place.
