Three N.S. police officers awarded National Police Order of Merit

Three police leaders from Nova Scotia have been named to the Order of Merit of the Police Forces for 2025.

Bridgewater’s Chief Scott Feener is one of the newly appointed Members of the Order. He joins RCMP Inspector Murray Michael Marcichiw and Acting Staff Sergeant Darrin Wayne Young, both based in Dartmouth, as recipients.

The Order of Merit of the Police Forces is one of the highest honours for Canadian policing. It recognizes exceptional service and leadership within municipal, provincial, and federal police services.

Appointees are selected by the Governor General on the recommendation of an independent advisory committee.

The full list includes officers from across the country and reflects a broad range of leadership, community engagement, and contributions to improving policing in Canada.
