Man arrested for making threats, fleeing RCMP in Shelburne

A 27-year-old man was arrested after making threats and attempting to run from police.

Shelburne RCMP say it happened last week, as a man allegedly entered a home in North East Point, Cape Sable Island and made threats toward a female known to him.

He then fled in a truck, RCMP attempted to stop him with a spike belt but were unsuccessful.

Later the truck was found on the side of Highway 103 near Oak Park Road.

The man ran into the woods but was tracked by a police dog, he was later arrested and made more threats.

The man from Spryfield and originally from Yarmouth remains in custody with a court date on May 27.
