Picturesque Peggy’s Cove near Halifax has new offerings to give tourists and locals alike the perfect East Coast experience this summer.
Six by the Sea is now open for the 2025 season.
According to a release, the “village within a village” was first imagined in 2021. It includes half a dozen historic buildings lovingly restored to host for-profit and not-for-profit businesses and cultural experiences.
The destination has also launched two new restaurants: Margaret’s is a cozy East Coast café, and Hunky Dory celebrates the beloved french fry with its Maritime-inspired menu.
Other properties at Six by the Sea include:
- Holy Mackerel, a whimsical retail shop with unique products and crafts by over 100 Atlantic Canadian artisans and vendors
- The Schoolhouse, built in 1839, educates through entertainment
- Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts & Culture
- Spindrift Gallery, originally constructed as an auxiliary building to a family home, now showcases historical exhibits and fine art by Atlantic Canadian artists
The quaint fishing village featuring the iconic and much-photographed Peggy’s lighthouse draws 700,000 annual visitors.
