Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is in Boston today, participating in a high-level summit with U.S. governors and fellow Eastern Canadian leaders to address trade tensions and explore new opportunities in energy and tourism.
The summit, hosted by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, includes governors from Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. Premier Houston is joined by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt, Prince Edward Island Premier Rob Lantz, Newfoundland and Labrador Premier John Hogan, and Quebec Economic Minister Christine Fréchette.
With U.S. tariffs straining cross-border commerce, the Canadian delegation is focused on reinforcing regional cooperation. Houston plans to spotlight Nova Scotia’s renewable energy potential and its strong cultural and economic ties to New England.
Houston is also expected to discuss offshore wind and green hydrogen development, positioning Nova Scotia as a key player in the Atlantic energy corridor.
