Fireworks are now totally banned across the province.
This follows the province’s move to ban anyone from going into wooded areas.
Forests are very dry and Nova Scotia does not have any rain in the forecast for a while.
A burn ban has been in place since July 30, which prevented any consumers from using fireworks.
But the new ban prohibits fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects shows of every kind.
Several events have already been canceled, including the fireworks show in the Northern Lights Lantern Festival, as well as the shows for the Digby Scallop Days and Avon River Days festivals.
