Sir J. Graham Day, one of Nova Scotia’s most accomplished and decorated business leaders, has died at the age of 92.
Born in Halifax, Day went on to become a prominent lawyer and corporate executive, earning a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth in 1989 for his service to British industry.
His long and varied career included leadership roles with Canadian Pacific, British Shipbuilders, and the Rover Group, as well as service on the boards of major Atlantic Canadian firms like Sobeys and the Bragg Group.
He also served as Chancellor of Dalhousie University from 1994 to 2001 and was recognized with both the Order of Nova Scotia and the Order of Canada.
Day passed away on July 31 at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor. According to his obituary, he remained active in his community and continued mentoring young professionals late into his life.
A funeral will be held August 22 at Christ Church in Windsor.
