Impaired driving charges for a Lunenberg County woman

A 33-year-old woman from Lunenberg County is facing impaired driving charges.

Amherst police came across a crash on Victoria Street in the morning of Aug. 6th.

The car hit a parked car on the wrong side of the road.

Officers say the driver showed signs of drug impairment and a passenger with moderate injuries was taken to a hospital.

The car had also been reported stolen from the Halifax area, and police arrested the driver at the scene.

The driver faces charges for impaired driving causing bodily harm, as well as stealing a car, and resisting a police officer.

The woman remains in custody and will appear in court later.
