Firefighters are battling a small remote wildfire near Lake George, outside of Aylseford.

The Department of Natural Resources says the fire is about 1 hectare and out of control, according to a social media post from the department.

No structures are at risk at this time.

A helicopter dropped water first, and several firefighters are now on scene, including four from the Northwest Territories, 7 from DNR, 22 local.

The “fire is responding well to suppression efforts,” the post read.
