Wildfire in Kings County now being held

The small wildfire in Kings County is now being held.

In a post on social media, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says the fire near Lake George is at 2 hectares and was declared as being held, Sunday night.

DNR says no structures are at risk and crews are making “good progress” to get it under control.

The blaze broke out Sunday at about 1 hectare.

It happened on the same weekend that DNR declared the Long Lake wildfire was under control after more than six weeks, with the size still at 8,468 hectares.

The province wide burn ban was also lifted, Friday night, for everywhere but the Annapolis County.
