Fishing closed on parts of Shubenacadie River

Fishing is now closed on parts of the Shubenacadie River.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada state it is due to conservation concerns associated with the low water levels across Nova Scotia.

They say, “Low water levels can cause fish to become stranded or to be found in high concentrations, resulting in unsustainable fishing pressure.”

This closure is from the outflow of Grand Lake to the Highway 102 bridge located in Shubenacadie East.

Recreational fishing in this area will be closed as of October 1 until December 31.
