Bird strike forces plane to return to Halifax

A plane had to head back to the Halifax Stanfield International Airport after hitting a bird.

Air Canada says it happened on Sunday afternoon.

The flight, AC868, was heading from Halifax to London’s Heathrow airport but hit a bird shortly after departing.

They say all 156 passengers were rebooked through various flights.

The Boeing 737 plane was also inspected and cleared by maintenance.
