RCMP say a heavy police presence near Cornwall on Hallamore Mills Road was in response to a person who had barricaded themselves inside a home with a weapon.
Lunenburg District RCMP received the call from a rural residence and say no one else was inside the home at the time.
General duty officers responded along with members of the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, and a crisis negotiator.
The individual later left the home and was taken into custody without incident.
RCMP say there was no risk to the public and that charges are not anticipated.
