Construction Ties Up Traffic On Highway 103

Traffic was snagged along Highway 103 over the weekend.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal are working to repave a section of the road between exits 6 and 5A.

Commuters experienced delays of up to 30 minutes.

TIR Spokesperson Brian Taylor says that is far longer than their standards allow.

“Normally they’re around ten to fifteen minutes. But we did notice a spike on Sunday where they think the work zone was physically longer, which may have contributed to longer waits.”

Taylor says staff have reached out to the contractor who have adjusted their traffic set up to reduce wait times to around ten minutes.

He says the repaving project is on schedule to finish by the end of the month.
