Two in hospital after oil truck and car crash near Mahone Bay

Two people were seriously injured after a crash between an oil truck and a car in Blockhouse, near Mahone Bay.

The RCMP says it happened on Tuesday around 8 a.m. on the Northwest Road between Blockhouse and Fauxburg.

When the vehicles collided, the oil truck went off the road and caught fire.

The driver of the truck managed to get out, but firefighters had to pull the other driver out of the car, a Hyundai Accent.

Both were taken to hospital.

The crash and fire knocked out phone and internet lines in the area for some time.

The investigation continues.
