A retired Nova Scotia veterinarian is vowing to stay vocal.
Tuxedo Party Leader and Atlantic Paw Project director, Hugh Chisholm says the practice of delcawing must be banned.
“It’s a horrible procedure. We’ve got lots of new science that shows it’s cruel, painful, it has life long implications for cats. It’s not required for human health benefits. The tired old excuses don’t work anymore,” says Chisholm.
In 2014, the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association voted down a motion to ban declawing.
A meeting was held last weekend to discuss the topic amongst board members, but no decision was made.
A call to the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association was placed but wasn’t immediately returned.
