RCMP lay first-ever terrorism charges in Atlantic Canada

The first-ever terrorism charges in Atlantic Canada.

A man from North Rustico, PEI is accused of making 3-D printed firearms and uttering threats.

The two charges include knowingly facilitating and intending to use the weapons for a terrorist activity.

Inspector Richard Marshall says the charges aren’t common in Canada, but it shows how seriously the RCMP takes threats of violent extremism and terrorism.

The man has been placed under a terrorism peace bond, he’s in custody and there’s no evidence of an active risk to the public.
