Internal review after Halifax city vehicle narrowly misses pedestrian

An internal review is underway after a city vehicle nearly backed-up into a pedestrian in Halifax.

According to a video posted on social media taken from a dashcam, the pedestrian had to dart out of the way.

In an emailed statement to our newsroom, Manager of Public Affairs with HRM Mark Gough says it happened around 10 a.m., Thursday, near the intersection of Oxford and Jennings Streets.

“The municipality takes safety seriously and is committed to protecting our residents and employees,” says the statement.

The findings from the review will not be released to the public.
