A Chester councillor is clearing the air after people blamed the municipality for the current boil water advisory.
A sewer line break that contaminated parts of the Village of Chester was in a private system, not municipal.
Brad Armstrong says it has been an inconvenience.
“I understand the Department of Environment is going around to various properties getting water samples for testing and let’s hope that it’s cleared up sooner rather than later.”
Homes and businesses between Central Street and Water Street, and from Union Street to South Street should be boiling water for at least one minute before using it.
People will be notified once the boil water advisory is lifted.
