More Winter Weather Forecast Could Cause Power Outages

Another storm packing freezing rain, ice pellets and snow is expected to hit the South Shore tonight.

Nova Scotia Power spokesperson, Beverley Ware says crews and trucks are concentrating on areas hard hit from last weekend’s storm.

“It has left trees weakened and damaged. So there is the potential for those trees and branches to come down across lines,” said Ware.

Nova Scotia Power has crews and trucks in position now to respond quickly to any outages.

Ware reminds customers to have an emergency kit on hand with a flashlight and battery operated radio.

She also advises charging all cell phones, devices and battery packs.
