Proposals on protected lands like West Mabou Beach may be discussed

Minister of Natural Resources Kim Masland says she is not interested in any more golf course proposals at West Mabou Beach.

In her opinion, it has now been dealt with when it was declined for the third time.

“I can reassure Nova Scotians that with a proposal that was put forward, that proposal would never end up into a park like that,” she stated.

Masland shared what would happen if a proposal came up for protected land in the future.

“Absolutely it’s protected, but we can still have conversations. Doesn’t mean that it’s going to change designation, but you can still have a conversation,” she said.

She says there’s nothing wrong with listening. It doesn’t mean you’re going to agree.
