RCMP make arrest in drug trafficking investigation

The Southwest Nova RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit has arrested a man after a months-long drug trafficking investigation.

The unit, with assistance of the Yarmouth RCMP General Investigation Section and the Digby RCMP, executed a search warrant on Dec. 18 at a home on Carlton Street in Digby.

The search was part of an investigation that began in September.

During the search, police seized more than one kilogram of cocaine, along with a quantity of cash and electronic devices.

A 64-year-old Digby man was arrested and then released on an undertaking.

He was ordered to appear in Digby provincial court on March 9 to face charges of drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and breaching a probation order.

The investigation is ongoing.
