The Lunenburg-Queens chapter of Special Olympics is getting a financial boost from Michelin in Bridgewater.
This is the 7th year for the annual Challenge Cup, featuring a hockey game between tire and wire production workers.
Spokesperson Tom DeBruin says the event includes a legends game and a hardest shot competition.
There is also a new Darryl Peterson Memorial Sportsmanship award.
“Darryl was a man that helped anybody. He was calm, you could ask him questions about hockey anytime and a big, big Boston Bruins fan.”
DeBruin hopes the event can raise $1,500.
All the festivities will be held at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre, beginning at 10 a.m on February 15.
