Eat a doughnut help a kid.
That’s the concept of the Children’s Wish Foundation Krispy Kreme Campaign.
Wish Coordinator Jacob Rafuse says it isn’t just about helping a kid go on vacation.
“It’s part of a healing process,” he says, “and sometimes it helps to give focus to some of the kids going though these treatments, to say ‘hey when we get through this we’re going to go see Mickey Mouse.’”
The campaign is selling iconic Krispy Kreme donuts, raising money to help more families.
The average cost of a wish is around $10,000.
So far 48 children in the South Shore have been granted wishes, with four more in the works.
