Mahone Bay is looking to power up.
They want to increase energy production at the Ellershouse Windfarm by adding three more turbines.
The town is one of the few communities in the province that run their own power service.
Mayor Joe Feeney says that means some of their energy is required to come from renewable resources.
“We’re trying to be environmentally sensitive,” he says, “and this was an opportunity, with proven technology, so we can meet those goals.”
The farm began producing power at the end of last year.
The additional turbines are expected to cost around 13.5- million dollars.
