A Brand-New Sport Debuts at the Winter Games This Year – Check It Out!

The 2026 Winter Games are fast approaching in Milan & Cortina, Italy! The opening ceremonies kick off on February 6th, and Canada, I’m sure, will be snatching medals and taking names like every year!

There is a new sport this year, though, that Canada won’t be taking part in: Ski Mountaineering! It’s the first new sport since Skeleton in 2002!

It’s basically a race up a mountain or hill on skis, and then a race down the other side of the hill! It’s quite intense! Check out a video below!
