Radiothon Tries To Bring Urology Services Back To The South Shore

It’s time for the community to show its support and lend a helping hand to health care.

Get ready to pledge your support to the Health Services Foundation as Radiothon 2016 kicks off this morning on CKBW/Country 100.7.

Money raised will go toward urology services at the South Shore Regional Hospital.

Managing Director, Arleen Stevens says up to 700 Lunenburg county patients are travelling to Kentville every year to see the urologist.

“So those patients need to drive to Kentville or they need to drive to the city to have the work done that we can do here.”

Money raised will buy a procedure table, a scope cleaning unit and a scope transport container.

In its six years, the Radiothon has helped to raise around $400,000.

Staff from both our radio stations are on site today from 8 a.m until 6 p.m to help the Foundation try and reach their $150,000 fundraising goal.

To donate, call (902) 543-5915.
