Up to $3,500 available for local health and wellness projects

A new community wellness fund is helping improve health across Nova Scotia.

Co-chair of Northside the Lakes CHB, Beth MacIsaac, says, “every year we are privileged to help make a difference in the health of our community through the awarding of wellness grants.”

Local groups can apply for up to $3,500 to support programs like fitness for people with disabilities, training for women in recovery, or sports for youth in need. Non-profits can apply through any of the 34 community health boards.

Applications are open until April 15 at 5 p.m.—and organizers say the excitement from communities already involved has been inspiring.
