Bridgewater: Business Offers Town $25,000 To Hire Garden Coordinator

It’s time to step up and help feed those in need in Bridgewater.

That’s the idea behind a $25,000 gift offer from a company in Lunenburg County.

Rosmarie Lohnes, owner of Helping Nature Heal, wants the Town of Bridgewater to accept their help to hire a garden coordinator.

That person would look after the Community Garden Project.

She says fresh produce being grown in the community can be used to help those in need.

Lohnes she feels an obligation to be a part of the solution.

“Everybody including small business in rural Nova Scotia needs to step up and make a stand in what we believe in.”

Lohnes says the town hasn’t officially accepted her offer, but this isn’t the first time something like this has been done.

Last year, O’Regan’s invested $50,000 in the Bridgewater outdoor pool.
