Bridgewater Deciding Next Steps on Parking

It’s still unknown whether or not parking will remain free in downtown Bridgewater for the long term.

Council planned a return to paid parking beginning April 1, but what that will look like hasn’t yet been decided.

Staff presented several options to council at a recent meeting.

Deputy Mayor Andrew Tanner says they still need more information before a decision can be made.

“Council has perhaps more questions then answers at this point and wants further details on a lot of different thing that were in that staff report.”

Tanner says he’d like to spend more time speaking with King Street businesses to see what they think about parking.

But, he says there’s no reason that would prevent them from keeping the April 1 deadline.
