Board Superintendent To Meet With Staff, SAC At Pentz and Petite Riviere Schools

Staff at Pentz and Petite Riviere elementary schools will receive an update on contingency planning by the South Shore Regional School Board.

Superintendent Scott Milner says he will attend meetings with staff and each school advisory council.

They are scheduled for February 6 at Petite Riviere and February 7 at Pentz.

The two schools are up for closure in September 2018.

Milner says the he wants to talk about next steps.

“We just want to make sure that both communities knew that our intention is to share all the information that we’re able and engage them and hear their voice through this process.”

The Nova Scotia government didn’t include a new build in its recent capital plan.

Preliminary data shows if those two schools close, students would attend school in Bridgewater or Hebbville.
