Mahone Bay Looking To Increase Water Rates

The town of Mahone Bay is looking to increase its water rates. Council has applied for a 6.7 per cent hike annually for the next three years. Mayor Joe Feeney says the town’s utility ended last year in a deficit of close to $240,000. He says changes need to be made.

Feeney says the province’s Utility and Review Board will hold a rate increase hearing in Mahone Bay around the end of April.
